Henderson Church of Christ WEbsite

A Website Rebuilt for Real-World Use

The Challenge

The Henderson Church of Christ came to the table with an existing website that looked the part — but fell apart behind the scenes. Every update risked breaking the design or undoing the site's mobile responsiveness, leaving the the Church leaders hesitant to touch it at all. What they needed was a platform built for non-technical users, paired with messaging that actually reflected who they are today. My job: create a new design and content strategy on a platform their team could confidently manage on their own.

The Approach

I started with strategy, not visuals. Before any design work began, I built out a sitemap and content plan grounded in the church's actual goals — delivering clear, relevant information to both longtime members and potential first-time guests. That plan became the foundation for everything that followed.

The Solution

With the plan approved, I moved into execution: designing new visuals, writing and integrating updated content, and rebuilding the entire site on Squarespace. The platform switch was intentional — it gave the church long-term flexibility and stability, empowering them to edit their site and content going forward, whether or not they have a designer or developer on hand. Users now have information delivered efficiently and effectively, with frequent updates for the Church leaders with or without my help.
