Hi, I’m David
I’m a tech nerd and a creative professional who loves to make things. I believe strong imagery and brand identity can tell an important story to your organization’s community, and I love creating the elements that tell those stories.
I grew up in rural southern Indiana and now live in Evansville, Indiana with my wife and two young children. My spare time is spent working with a few nonprofits, with my church, and (mostly) with my family.
Experience
-
October 2023 - July 2026
I led the go-to-market launch of a B2B ultra-wideband (UWB) real-time location system (RTLS) for industrial applications. I joined the project as the product neared production with no established market presence, brand identity, or launch strategy. I created the product positioning, brand development, messaging, website design and development, e-commerce implementation, sales enablement, and marketing operations. Created technical and educational content to introduce a new technology to the market through articles, videos, social media, and digital advertising. Established internal sales processes, supported business development efforts, and built the digital infrastructure required to successfully launch the product.
While the UWB product was still in development, I also provided business development and sales support, recruiting efforts, and designed and built the website for the contract engineering side of the business. The branding and messaging for the company received a total refresh. -
2008-Present
I am a freelance photographer in the Evansville area. I take on clients of all types ranging from businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools and universities, portraiture clients, weddings, sporting events, and more.
-
July 2020-October 2023
Directed the organization's marketing and communications strategy, leading brand management, product marketing, digital advertising, traditional media, website strategy, content development, and community engagement. Partnered with executive leadership to support strategic growth initiatives, including new product launches, branch expansions, and customer acquisition campaigns. Oversaw internal and external communications, employee engagement initiatives, public relations, and corporate events while serving on cross-functional leadership committees for Strategic Planning, Asset & Liability Management (ALCO), and Information Technology. Collaborated across departments to align marketing, sales, and organizational objectives, strengthening the bank's brand presence to support long-term growth.
-
June 2016- January 2020
Managed creative production for marketing campaigns across print, digital, social media, Amazon, and direct-to-consumer channels. Planned and coordinated commercial photography projects in studio and on location throughout the United States, overseeing logistics, scheduling, equipment, and asset production. Worked closely with marketing and creative team members to deliver high-quality visual content that supported product marketing initiatives and maintained brand consistency across multiple outdoor and sporting goods brands.
-
Aug 2013-May 2016
As a Photographer in the University Communications department, I was responsible for organizing, planning, and executing photoshoots for athletics, social media, historical documentation, online publications, advertising, and the alumni magazine. I participated in planning and executing advertising campaigns, contributed directly to the university and departmental social media accounts, and produced multimedia projects for the university. I was able to focus on projects that stretched across many departments within the university and focused on target markets ranging from alumni, current students, and prospective students.
